As our age of globalization intensifies we are increasingly bombarded with diverse worldviews and perspectives on all sides. It is easy to feel confused or overwhelmned and wish to tune out or turn our attention away. But as informed global citizens it is more vital than ever that we have a direct encounter with diverse worlds and remain current in developing a global perspective with literacy in a growing range of worldviews. This is where Philly LIVE: Your Global Connection strives to make a significant contribution to our viewers. Host Ashok Gangadean, Ph.D. and Co–Founder of the Global Dialogue Institute says, "Each week we select interesting guests from the broadest spectrum of current topics in our cultural life. Our guests speak from very different perspectives or worldviews and explore current vital topics of global and international significance." Ashok adds, "Our conversations seek to be stimulating, entertaining and educational as we explore different worlds and expand our horizons on the global scene. I find that each week I am challenged to encounter different perspectives which stretch me in new directions. I really enjoy hearing from our viewers as their voices shape the direction of the dialogues."

One aim of this show is to help our viewers enter the worldview or perspective of our guest to gain a more in-depth encounter with their world. Ashok adds, "We attempt to move beyond mere "talk" or "cross–fire" to enter deeper dialogue across perspectives." Cultivating global dialogue between worlds fulfills one of WYBE's primary missions of encouraging real diversity and a culture of mutual tolerance. The live call–in feature of the show encourages viewers to help deepen the dialogue through direct participation with the guest, all of which aims at helping our audience to enlarge and expand their perspectives through significant encounter with diverse worlds on the international scene. Gangadean, who has years of experience in the art of dialogue, listens keenly to what his guests have to say, follows up with probing questions and values the voices of viewers who join the conversation.
